A new chapter in natural bedding

Kelly & Windsor was the first to bring the incredible qualities of alpaca to Australian bedding — and once again, we’re leading the way.

We’re proud to introduce Australia's first Pure Fine Merino Wool bedding collection.

Known for its softness, breathability, and natural elegance in clothing, pure fine merino is equally exceptional in bedding.

For those who appreciate the quality of Australian wool, our new collection offers a refined and timeless choice.

Pure Fine Merino Wool vs Merino Wool

Wool quality is measured by the diameter of the fibre in microns — the finer the fibre, the softer and more luxurious the feel.

Standard merino wool typically measures around 21.5 microns, while pure fine merino wool is even finer, between 18.6 and 19.5 microns.

This subtle yet significant difference creates a noticeable improvement in softness, drape, and comfort.

The natural crimp, or waviness, of fine merino fibres not only enhances its softness but also traps air between the fibres, creating a natural insulation barrier.

This unique structure helps regulate body temperature beautifully, making pure fine merino wool the perfect fibre for premium bedding!

Truly Australian

At Kelly & Windsor, we are proud to source our pure fine merino wool from Kangaroo Island, South Australia — one of the most pristine and respected wool-producing regions in the country.

This remote island offers an ideal environment for raising merino sheep, with fresh sea air, clean pasture, and a strong tradition of sustainable farming practices.

We have built a close, trusted relationship with Kangaroo Island Wool, whose passion for their sheep and commitment to producing the highest quality wool are second to none.

Their dedication to animal welfare, land stewardship, and fibre excellence is evident in every batch of wool they produce — and in every quilt we create.
